The news has been full of war and rumours of war, of people who have lost everything, of hatred and fear spreading like wildfire, of defiance, resistance and backlash. The days get shorter and grayer, and sometimes it seems the greyness, the darkness and the cold seep into my soul and won’t let go. Are these the declining days of a species that is just too stupidly clever for its own good, that cannot get its act together to save its life? I prefer to hope not. Here are two songs to share with the world, and if they bring hope or consolation, joy or resilience to anyone out there it will be worth the sharing.
